FREYA followed the ODIN and THOR project. Here you can find information about the two previous projects.
The THOR project was a 30-month EU-project running from 2015 - 2017 that aimed to establish seamless integration between articles, data, and researchers across the research lifecycle. You can read more about the project on the Internet Archive entry of the THOR website.
The ODIN project was a two-year EU-project running from 2012 - 2014 which built on the ORCID and DataCite initiatives to uniquely identify scientists and data sets and connect this information across multiple services and infrastructures for scholarly communication.
